Iceland's most famous geothermal spa, its milky-blue mineral waters steaming at 38°C amid a jet-black lava field.
The compact, colourful heart of Iceland's capital — Laugavegur's shopping street, the old harbour and Reykjavík's low-rise houses glowing in the northern light.

In the shadow of Vatnajökull, the 'Black Falls' drop over dramatic hexagonal basalt columns — the inspiration for Reykjavík's cathedral.

Day 4 – Skaftafell – Djúpivogur – Egilsstaðir

Icebergs calved from Vatnajökull drift across a deep glacial lagoon; an amphibian boat glides between the floating blue-white sculptures.
Beside the lagoon, glittering chunks of glacier ice wash up on black volcanic sand, sparkling like scattered diamonds against the surf.
The road winds through Iceland's remote Eastfjords, past the tiny fishing village of Djúpivogur and the 'Eggs of Merry Bay' — 34 giant granite eggs lining the shore.

Day 5 – Egilsstaðir – Myvatn – Akureyri
Days sightseeing and activities
A volcanic wonderland of pseudo-craters, steaming vents and lava pillars around a shallow, bird-rich lake.
Out into Eyjafjörður, Iceland's longest fjord, in search of humpback and minke whales breaching against a mountain backdrop.
The 'Capital of the North', a charming town at the head of a long fjord, with botanical gardens and colourful houses.

Akureyri's striking hilltop church, its stepped concrete façade echoing basalt columns above the town and fjord.
Europe's most powerful hot spring, gushing 180 litres of boiling water per second in billowing clouds of steam.
'The lava falls' — crystal-clear water streaming from beneath a lava field over nearly a kilometre into the Hvítá river.

Day 7 – Borganes – Snjofellsjoekull – Reykjavik
Days sightseeing and activities
The glacier-capped volcano that crowns the peninsula — Jules Verne's gateway to the centre of the earth — ringed by lava fields and sea cliffs.
A black-pebble cove framed by dramatic rock formations, scattered with a shipwreck's rusted remains and four fishermen's lifting stones.
Iceland's most photographed mountain, a perfect symmetrical cone beside a tumbling waterfall on the Snæfellsnes coast.
