Rovaniemi – Home of Santa Claus
Lapland, the northern region of Finland, is the home of reindeer, northern lights and Santa Claus. The capital city of Lapland is Rovaniemi, which is situated on the Arctic Circle. Here you can visit the Santa Claus Village and his famous post office and maybe, if you’re lucky, even meet Santa himself.
But Lapland is much more than reindeer and Santa Claus. The opportunity of outdoor activities is endless. The mountains of the north is a superb and inspiring walking territory and the possibilities of winter activities are immense. Visit a reindeer farm, take an excursion with a huskey dog sledge, go for a snow mobile safari or cross the Arctic Circle and receive an arctic certificate. Enjoy a local meal and after that relax in the Finnish sauna.
